Team
Kieran Farr
CEO
Kieran is Vidcaster’s original founder and technical brains. His career began before he even graduated from high school as a daily producer of a live sports TV program for his high school’s top ranked basketball team. Kieran went on to raise $500k while an undergrad at Indiana University to create a completely student-run television station that still thrives today. After graduation he moved to San Francisco to work at Omnicom’s OMD Group as a media buyer, sharpening his analytical and business skills to help him found VidSF, a partnership with SF Chronicle and other SF-based media groups to create a local online video destination property. The core technology for this product evolved to become Vidcaster.
Steve Cochrane
Designer
Steve grew up in Fairfax, Virginia. He studied informatics and graphic design at Indiana University Bloomingon, where he met Kieran and Ray and led the IT team for the TV station they founded. After moving cross-country to the Bay Area to be at the center of the web industry, Steve helped develop user interfaces for Arena Solutions’s product management software, used by clients such as Tesla Motors, Intuit and Segway to manage their product design processes. Steve left Arena in 2009 to focus his efforts on Vidcaster.
Jiang Li
Developer
Jiang grew up in the heart of Silicon Valley, and he has always been fascinated by computers and technology. This led him to pursue a electrical engineering and computer science degree from U.C Berkeley. After graduating in the fall of 2010, Jiang started working at a coworking space in San Francisco, and it is there that he met the Vidcaster team. Jiang officially joined the company in summer 2011.
Adria Mooney
Front-End Developer
Adria was born and raised in Palo Alto. She escaped Silicon Valley for 7 years to pick up a BA in German Language and an MA in Political Science. The excitement of "Web 2.0" lured her back to the Bay Area in 2006 to pursue a career in the Internet industry. Adria discovered front-end web development to be a perfect match for her creativity, entrepreneurial interests, and obsessive compulsiveness. She joined Vidcaster in January 2012, after code-wrangling at Credit.com since 2009. When she's not pushing pixels around, Adria enjoys slack-lining, camping, and cooking vegan food as well as bacon.
Thinh Ngo
Developer
Thinh joined the Vidcaster team as a back-end engineer in early 2011. He received his undergrad in computer science from California Poly Pomona. As an engineer, Thinh is a "skillful contriver or originator of something", according to the Oxford Dictionary. Prior to Vidcaster, Thinh contrived to get himself into all kinds of trouble as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Jamaica, where he worked to improve literacy in his community through the use of technology. In his spare time, Thinh enjoys cooking, bouldering, yoga, and noodling on his guitar.

History
Vidcaster’s first incarnation was a custom content workflow and publishing workflow solution for a local video media property called VidSF.com. The team inspired and led a large local community of volunteer videographers to produce original local video content as an alternative to traditional broadcast television, eventually forging content and distribution partnerships with leading traditional and new media outlets in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The founders soon saw an opportunity to further the mission of the company by opening the powerful video workflow management tool they created for their own operations to the outside world. They called it Vidcaster. By providing easy-to-use and powerful building blocks to video content creators, Vidcaster's founders hope to free video producers to focus on the content and the effect their content has on the world instead of technical and workflow logistics.
